Thomas Hart Benton

Five mural cycles from the early 1930s effectively changed the face of American Art and led to a Time magazine feature that placed Benton at the forefront of a new movement: Regionalism. The article discussed the new style of representational art and lauded painters of the U.S. scene. Benton was the implied leader of the movement. For the first time an artist landed the cover Рand that artist was Thomas Hart Benton.
