the artist blog
This artist blog is dedicated to all of the regionalist painters from past to present. Regionalism began in the 1920’s and started to reach its peak in the 1930’s. Artists established a connection with the American people, the laborers and their surrounding regions. This movement became a movement incorporating realism. This included subjects of political powers and the everyday worker. The three pioneers of American Regionalism, Thomas Hart Benton, John Steuart Curry and Grant Wood created a platform that many artist expand upon today. Please enjoy the following artists interpretations of regionalist art!
